The Great Lake Erie Educators Exchange strives to be the best place in Lake Erie’s Central Basin to connect with the majestic ecology of our unique bioregion while learning field based techniques to elevate and inspire your teaching practice. As a group of educators, we endeavor to create an event that offers you stress relief in a retreat like setting while immersing all attendees in 14-18 hours of workshops, demonstrations, and presentations, over two days and two nights November 6-8, 2019. Contact hours will be offered as will optional graduate credit from the Ashland University.
Staff from local, regional, and statewide organizations will form the core of our “Education Exchange” and provide expert insight into a wide range of topics with interest and appeal to the entire spectrum of K-12 educators. We have partnered with conservation/nature/environmental organizations such as the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP), Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Cleveland Metroparks, OH SEA Grant, Holden Arboretum, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Center for Arts Inspired Learning, the Rural Action Network, the University of Akron Field Station, the Allegheny Land Trust, and Rust Belt Riders Composting as providers of our workshops. In addition, we anticipate partnering with our region’s wealth of universities to attract the participation of students interested in place based nature education.
GLEEE Con will take place November 6-8, 2019 at the renowned Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center. Each day will feature 2 blocks of sessions with 2-3 workshops from which to choose, between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.
Registration cost will cover opening night dinner plus 5 meals over the following two days as well as two nights of overnight accommodations and parking.
